We have been offering our summer camps since 2007. As always, the programs are designed to meet the needs of our talented students.
“Fine Art Summer Camp 2010” is the finest art summer camp available. All residents of the Southwest suburbs of the City of Cleveland are included. The program offers fine art instruction to children ages 8-14. The program is hosted in the Southwest suburbs of Cleveland, at The Little Red Schoolhouse Center for the Fine Arts in Berea. Professional artists and instructors from Southwest 7 Arts will manage and deliver fine art instruction in the following disciplines:
ceramics, graphic arts, photography, drawing and painting.
The summer day camp program will be comprised of five individual and unique weeks of art instruction. Participants can attend as many weeks as they would like. Students will not need previous instruction to attend any week.
Every mini-program/week will be a hands-on, step-by-step guide full of professional tricks and tips to help students create art pieces of superior quality in an open studio environment, where experimentation, finding new ways of expression, and peer-to-peer respectful and constructive reviews are encouraged and shared within the collective. Live demonstrations will be the method of teaching to be used. Every skill and concept will be taught through completion of projects.
The program will run each weekday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm from July 12th to August 13th 2010.
Art is messy. Students should dress in appropriate clothes.
In order to assure an enjoyable experience and pleasant environment to create art, we will only accept a limited number of students per week. (no less than 4 students and no more than 12 students per instructor) Registration Form

Clay/Ceramics Program
Week 1 (July 12-16, 2010) Age group: 8-14
Students will explore the ceramic medium from concept to completion. Several projects will be made by the students from low-fire earthenware clay. Due to the time involved with completing the entire process, students may need to return later to pick up their finished work. The camp will concentrate on the hand-building construction techniques of slab, coil and pinchpot. Wheelwork will be addressed but is not the focus of these sessions. All materials included.
